I have always loved creating art - from the first coloring books and simple drawings of my childhood to my current work in watercolors and mural art. High school art classes were the only 'formal' training I've had. For many years I enjoyed various crafts including old-fashioned rug hooking, only pursuing painting seriously when my oldest daughter left for college. I guess I thought that it was time for me to 'find myself' - to discover whether or not I had any real talent. I bought myself some paints, watercolor paper and a good drawing table and began painting. Time and determination has brought me some success - incentive to continue to grow as an artist. | Background information: I grew up in Pequannock, New Jersey, attended Pequannock Township High School, graduated in 1965. A few moves between New Jersey and Connecticut, now living here in Connecticut for 33 years. Married in 1980, raised 3 children, built a log home, got divorced, and now live with my cat. Two beautiful granddaughters are out on the west coast. Dating now and working part time - time to get my act together and start producing more art work! I am also a writer of sorts - have stared writing about my experience with building a log home, a two year project that required a great deal of determination. |
Dating today, as a mature adult (aka old broad), is depressing. The most popular way to meet someone seems to be through dating sites. You can try the free sites or pay by the month for the chance to find "Mr. Right". They all advertise with photos of really great looking people who meet and instantly find true love. Where are these people? Or should I say who are these people?
Divorced about 11 years ago, I have had several relationships since then, met a few guys online, but have yet to find the magic connection. If anyone out there would like to comment, tell me your dating experiences, how you have or have not met your other half, I would like to hear your story.
